Only 2 things Keeping You from Becoming a 6-figure Copywriter
Copywriting is anything you write to sell, promote, or advertise a particular service or product. But do you know it is much more than that?
Over the course of my career as a copywriter. I have come across many aspiring copywriters who need help to reach their sales targets. They are constantly failing to express the true utility of the products to their target audience.
All successful copywriters have one thing in common that makes them stand apart from the rest. They know how to keep a fine balance between:
The utility of the product or service
AND…
The emotional appeal it carries
The Problem It Solves
By the utility of the product, I mean what kind of problem your product solves. How does your product have a net positive impact on your daily life and how much time or effort it saves you from? Basically, you need to identify the solutions your product provides to your customers.
For instance, If you’re living in Delhi or Lahore (Two cities having a cutthroat competition in having the worst air quality index) you’d need an air purifier to save your lungs and respiratory system. Having an air purifier will help you inhale and exhale in a cleaner ecosystem. You will save yourself from the densely polluted smog surrounding the environment.
Ultimately, this product lets you do the most important thing without any trouble, which is breathing. This is, in essence, the utility the product provides to the customers.
Example
Here are two example sales taglines that highlight the utility of the product:
“The Air Purifier Your Lungs Will Thank You For.”
“Defend Your Lungs, Conquer the Smog.”
Emotional Relief It Offers
Secondly, we have to cater to the emotional stimuli of the masses to get the most amount of attention and sales out of them. Imagine, your grandma is suffering from severe asthma. You’ll surely need a nice air purifier to keep her healthy and stable. Now the product is not only solving a serious problem you’re going through but in the process also saving your loved ones and family members.
Example
Here are two example sales taglines that highlight the emotional relief the product provides:
“Because Her Smile Deserves Fresh Air.”
“Safe Breaths for the Ones You Love Most.”
Final Thoughts
All successful copywriters have found the silver lining between these two highly crucial aspects that take your copywriting skills to the next level. While crafting any form of copy, make sure you integrate the utility of the product or service along with the emotional relief that it’ll provide to yourself or your near and dear ones.
